The best way to wrap up your weekend in Lexington? With a delicious Sunday brunch. Another downtown option is The Palms, where buttermilk waffles with fried chicken give a nod to breakfast among a slew of enticing sandwiches. Devils Backbone Outpost Tap Room & Kitchen serves a lunch-focused menu with burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. Macado's on Main Street serves their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a beef hamburger. Add fruit as your side. Order at the counter at Pure Eats then dig into donuts, breakfast sandwiches, and burgers on the patio. Sweet Treats is known for their desserts and pastries, but savory options are also on the menu. The Gertie’s Special at Gertie’s in Vesuvius comes with two pancakes, two eggs, and a side of bacon. Breakfast sandwiches, burgers, and subs are available too.  Breakfasts are the specialty at the Sunrise Diner on Nelson Street just east of downtown – it’s behind the Cook Out – and at IHOP on Route 11 at Lee-Hi Truck stop. You can enjoy brunch 24/7 at the Waffle House at the junction of Route 39 and Route 11 near the Virginia Horse Center.  For a side of nostalgia, drive south to the Pink Cadillac. Dig into eggs, pancakes, biscuits, and burgers as well as The King – a grilled white-bread sandwich with peanut butter, bananas, and honey-drizzled bacon that would make Elvis proud.
