<p>Numerous shops are open in downtown Lexington and across Rockbridge County on Sunday.</p><p><br></p><p>For one-of-a-kind gifts and art, check out <strong>Earth, Fire &amp; Spirit Gallery</strong>, which sells pottery and an appealing mix of works – jewelry, found art, woodwork, sketches – from local artists. Regional fine art is the draw at <strong>Cabell Gallery</strong>, home to paintings, furniture, clay works, and glass creations.</p><p><br></p><p>Two women’s boutiques welcome shoppers on Sundays too. <strong>Pappagallo</strong>, a multi-generational shop open since 1977, sells jewelry, jeans, dresses, and eye-catching accessories on Main Street. Around the corner, <strong>Clover</strong> sells fashion-forward women’s apparel – lots of dresses! – on Washington Street. Cute candles and fun jewelry too.</p><p><br></p><p>Several specialty shops are also open on Sunday. <strong>Walkabout Outfitter</strong> stocks outdoor adventure apparel and gear – it’s a prime stop for last-minute hiking and camping needs. Cooks and entertainers can easily spend an hour perusing kitchen tools and fun products at <strong>Ladles &amp; Linens</strong>. More than 500 board games are for sale at <strong>Just Games</strong>, which also sells discs for disc golf. Treats for your pet are available at <strong>Lexington Pet Place</strong>.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Looking for a book? The overstuffed shelves in <strong>The Bookery</strong> hold a broad selection of new and used books, including fiction and non-fiction. Lots of locally themed books too. <strong>Historian’s Books</strong> on W Washington St sells new and used books with a focus on history.</p><p><br></p><p>For a wide selection of wine, craft beer, and cider, step inside helpful <strong>Washington Street Purveyors</strong>. This multi-room shop also has gourmet sandwiches, local cheeses, and tasty charcuterie fixin’s. Stop by <strong>Devils Backbone Outpost Taproom &amp; Kitchen</strong> on Route 11 north of downtown for craft beer, canned cocktails, and Devils Backbone t-shirts and gear.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Growlers of craft beer are available at <strong>Rockbridge Vineyard &amp; Brewery</strong> in the northern reaches of Rockbridge County. Growlers and cans are an option at <strong>Great Valley Farm Brewery &amp; Winery</strong> in Natural Bridge. Heirloom ciders are a tasty purchase at <strong>Halcyon Days Cider Co</strong>, housed in a cabin on a former dairy farm on Route 11.</p><p><br></p><p>For great locally produced wine, follow pretty country roads to <strong>Jump Mountain Vineyard</strong> or <strong>Lexington Valley Vineyard </strong>in North Rockbridge, but call ahead. <strong>Rockbridge Vineyard &amp; Brewery</strong> in North Rockbridge and <strong>Great Valley in Natural Bridge</strong> also sell top-notch wines. New-on-the-scene <strong>Ecco Adesso Vineyards</strong> in Fairfield currently sells wine from regional wineries while they wait for their grapes to mature.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Regional jams and jellies line the shelves at <strong>Layne’s Country Store</strong> on Route 11. Just south you’ll find Asian pears and seasonal produce at the farmstand at <strong>Virginia Gold Orchard</strong>.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>A few farms and shops are open on Sundays in North Rockbridge along the North Rockbridge Trail. Shop lavender-infused products at the <strong>Tantivy Lavender Farm &amp; Gift Shop</strong> (mid-April-Dec) in Fairfield. In Raphine, the historic <strong>Wade’s Mill</strong> (April-mid-Dec), established in 1750, sells stone-ground fresh grains. <strong>Old South Antiques</strong> in Fairfield is a hub for Early American country furniture.</p><p>Haven’t found the right local purchase? Head south on Route 11 to the <strong>Natural Bridge Caverns Gift Shop</strong>, where you’ll find polished stones and jewelry, or the souvenir-filled gift store at <strong>Natural Bridge State Park</strong>.&nbsp;</p>

Just Games is Lexington, Va.’s Friendly Local Game Store. It is a place to discover the latest board games alongside classic favorites with tables set up to play right in the store. Lexington Pet Place is an independent, locally-owned pet store and boutique located in the historic downtown area. We sell pet food, pet supplies, and gifts for those who love their pets. Jump Mountain Vineyard is a family-owned farm winery. Our goal is to produce carefully crafted, European-style wine with a distinctly local character from grapes grown and processed on the property.

Old South Antiques has been specializing in Early American country furniture and accessories in the Shenandoah Valley for over 30 years, and in business over 40 years. Natural Bridge Caverns were discovered just before the turn of the 20th century and opened to the public in 1977. During tours, visitors descend more than 34 stories deep within the Earth to get to the magnificent natural display. While underground, tourists can explore the caverns and view their many special features, including cavern structures such as the Colossal Dome room. This room is an enormous dome-shaped natural feature that was created over thousands of years. Hours vary seasonally.
